About week ago I set out on a trip to Florida. I got about 60 miles and the throttle quit functioning. The engine just went to idle. I pulled over and pulled out my ODB2 scanner and had a code indicating throttle body issue. I reset the code and got the rv going again and headed home. I made sure I did not run at the same cruise speed thinking the might be a bad spot in the sensor. Got home ordered a new throttle body.
When I received it, I installed it. With a new throttle body you have to clear the ecu throttle memory or reset to do a throttle relearn, then run at Idle for 15 min.
Well then I took off on my trip again. The engine seemed to run much better. On my first fuel stop I got 7.5 mpg which was much better then my 6+ mpg. On my second stop I got 8.5 mpg. I could not believe it. I went back and checked to make sure I filled the tank full.
Now I know terrain has a lot to do with, but I got the 6+ on the same trip several months ago ago.
I’m pretty sure doing the relearn had a lot to do with it.
Just thought I’d pass it on.
