Tile Shortage?

I think at this point @Jim it's a great opportunity to show your creativity. I know Newmar and owners are accustomed to uniform tile throughout but imagine an area that has black "styled" tile as a frame for an area? I think with some creativity you can come up with a winning design in the end. Trying to turn this to a positive for you

OK, I'll work on that.

But first, I need to finish ironing out how this happened in the first place. Newmar's Essex Specialist is saying they exclude the tile to keep weight down (the expected answer) but I'm asking how a few tiles makes any kind of meaningful difference in the overall weight of a motor home this size.

And just as important, I’m also trying to figure out why this wasn’t considered a weight issue on my London Aire, where the tile did extend under the couch and the dinette. If it wasn’t a concern there, it’s hard to see why it would suddenly become one on the Essex.

And then there is @Underboss coach's. Why was weight not an issue on his rigs? Looking for some uniformity here.

The uniformity is it sounds better than, "The MBA's running the company did the math".
