Has anyone else noticed that semi-trucks seem to have raised their overall highway speed? Up until recently (past 6 months or so), it seemed to me that semis were usually doing between 60-65 mph on the interstates (or other 65-75 mph limited roads). It was not uncommon for me to pass them in my Class A, which I kept at about 63 mph.
Now, semis are regulary doing 70 mph on interstates and 4-lane highways.

Could it be a lack of truckers due to immigration/licensing enforcement? Maybe trucking companies and manufacturers see the lower overall transit time as more favorable than increased fuel costs.

Just wondering.

Most “company owned” trucks are limited to a speed determined by the company (typically 65-70). Owner operators are free to set the governor to whatever speed they choose, so those are probably the ones you’re noticing going around you.

I haven't noticed any change in the speed of semis. Some are speed regulated (on-board computer)to 65 mph.
As in that mile long trail of vehicles in the left lane following a truck going 65.01 mph overtaking another going 65.00 mph.
