Still the best system in human history
That's why Nixon went to China in '72. Everybody knew capitalism, "the best system in human history" and the political and economic ideology, "communism" were mutually exclusive concepts, ie., you can't do both.

Question: why do people go off topic on forums?

AI answer on google:
Going off-topic on a forum, particularly regarding a subject one is passionate about, is a common human behavior driven by a combination of social, psychological, and cognitive factors. When people feel strongly about a topic, they tend to explore all associated ideas, share personal stories, or seek deeper connections with others.

This technology is like heading west across a new frontier to unknown circumstances.

It is that super highway into the future where our very existence will eventually be cyphered mathematically, which BTW is what I believe life revolves around...... numbers.

Lots of theory, guess, and searching since mankind first wonder who and what am I......

Invention and machine has provided much comfort along our paths, but diversion too.
Is our existence to merely work and store up such comforts?

Will we ever see the event of perpetual motion that is free and labor moot?

Are we any closer today solving that riddle of who we are, by eliminating what we aren't?

I dunno........

But let me pose this question, please.

"Why are we who visit and engage here at your domain, all enjoy travel and outdoors, drawn to this love and desire of likeminded, while others are not?

Maybe that is a clue?

Wow! The black soldier larvae are falling out of the feeder with this response!!

For that reason I won't say more.

My bad, I mistakenly thought this was a "General Discussion"/ "Patio Talk" thread and not all that serious. I likewise apparently misunderstood the sub title: " Campfire chit chat among fellow RV'ers discussing "anything" you want to discuss among peers". I'll try to work on my reading comprehension.

I'm doing some coding and using AI as it's an amazing tool for developers. I asked it to do something, here is its response:

Notice how respectful and well behaved it is. I'm thinking AI may solve some parenting issues in the future and maybe we'll see an improvement in humans?

I like wandering conversations, you never know what you might learn from them.

I see where Block/Square payment company just laid off almost half their workforce due to "increased AI efficiencies". A news bit I expect we better get used to seeing.

Speaking of coding, soem of the first adopters of AI found it to be VERY useful for the "scut work" of coding. Until one day thye found almost all of what they were doing qualified as such work. And....out of a job.

I kind of worry about where all this will go. Happily I'm immune to workforce problems (I think) being a skilled hands-on blue collar guy on the verge of retirement. Worried about the grandkids a bit though.

The social interactive chat version is trained to be whatever you want it to be and tell you nothing that you don't want to hear. Isn't that what best friends are for?
No different however from the algorithms on Meta which are designed to keep you there and not coincidentally keep you exposed to advertisers by determining what stimuli will keep you engaged ( think highly sophisticated click bait). Not unlike nicotine, heroin, oxycontin and alcohol will keep you coming back for more.
