So glad I found this forum. I have 3 RVs. One of them is a 2004 Damon/ Thor Challenger class A motorhome. It's not worth much, but it is dear to me. Both windshields are cracked. The estimates for replacement are over $8,000. The RV isn't worth that much so I refuse to pay that. I've considered ordering the glass and rubber seal (probably still going to cost $4,000), but even that is risky to spend that on this old thing. Even considered coating plexiglass with clear tint as a possible solution. Anybody have an angle or idea for this problem?

What the motorhome is worth in reality is meaningless if it means more to you!
If keeping it is worth the $4-8k to you--do it and forget the value to anyone else!
Conversely, if it is not worth it to you, donate it to charity and take a nice deduction!
Your call.

Try to source one from salvage ?

I realize I am stating the obvious, but make sure you check out RV Glass Solutions / Coach Glass in Coburg, OR. I have a 2007 Newmar, and they had mine in stock at a MUCH (Emphasize MUCH) lower price than you are quoting. Your number surprises me. Blessings

Whoa..Plexiglass?

Well make sure there is no incoming semi trucks on undivided highways. I can imagined the squall like gust of wind hitting the plexiglass windshield from the passing truck.

Me: Probably ended up with a wrapped around faceshield from that. lol..Ow!
