So glad I found this forum. I have 3 RVs. One of them is a 2004 Damon/ Thor Challenger class A motorhome. It's not worth much, but it is dear to me. Both windshields are cracked. The estimates for replacement are over $8,000. The RV isn't worth that much so I refuse to pay that. I've considered ordering the glass and rubber seal (probably still going to cost $4,000), but even that is risky to spend that on this old thing. Even considered coating plexiglass with clear tint as a possible solution. Anybody have an angle or idea for this problem?

First I'd get a mental picture of myself replacing a MH windshield, then try to recall if alcohol was involved in the plexiglass idea.

What the motorhome is worth in reality is meaningless if it means more to you!
If keeping it is worth the $4-8k to you--do it and forget the value to anyone else!
Conversely, if it is not worth it to you, donate it to charity and take a nice deduction!
Your call.
