new tires for Class A motorhome

Hello: I am looking for suggestions for best RV tires, considering, durability, price, long lasting and road stability and handling. Would appreciate all responses. Thanks

If you do a search you will find dozens of threads with hundreds of responses to this question. It all really boils down to personal preference and, these days, availability to a degree.
I, for instance, have been a fan of Michelin for many years and that is the brand I use on all my vehicles. Many would say they are too pricey, don’t wear well etc.
After your search you will probably be more confused than ever. Good luck!

Agree with @J&JD personal preference and availability. I too have run Michelin tire for years on all my vehicles. The brand has performed well for me. You can find them at a discount, as with any Brand, just watch Date Codes. Retailers, Distributors will discount old stock to move it.

Both my last and this MH came with Michelins. I have Michelins on my SUV. On the last MH, the sidewalls were begining to crack after 4 years. These tires were manufactured the same year as the ones on the SUV. The ones on the SUV ran for seven years with no cracking. The difference was theMH sat for seven months of the year, while the SUV was driven every few days.
The tires on the MH were always covered, even when camping. My conclusion is Michelins don’t like sitting for most of the time. We will see how long the ones on the current MH last.

The truck center change the tires on the previous MH to Coopers. I could tell no difference in the ride and they were a lot cheaper. I asked why he did not use Michelin. His response was he was tired of changing out cracked Michelins.

in conclusion, the SUV now has a new set of Michelins. Time will tell what goes on the MH next. I was also told at the tire place, that I will not see any current tire last like the last set of Michelins - not even the new Michelins.

It depends on what size you’re looking for, as not all manufacturers make all sizes of tires. I like Michelins for my passenger cars, but I’m not a fan of the sidewall cracking on their XRV motorhome tires, so I replaced them with TOYO’s which have a really nice ride, and cost quit a bit less than the Michelins.

My MH came with a brand new set of Toyo's and we have had them going on 3 years and absolutely no issues.

I've had 2 Michelin tires come apart on Super Dutys'.

Toyo Tires is a Japanese company with manufacturing facilities in the US and around the world. My opinion is Quality is probably pretty good.

Our 05 Alpine Coach came from the factory with Toyos. Many owners were having serious problems with them and switched them out early (3-4 years). Lately people seem to have very good luck with Toyos. As I said in my previous post, much of it is personal preference. And I think that the manufacturers change in quality over the years. So, read the posts and make as intelligent a decision you can remembering much of the info is antidotal .

Also, keep in mind that the same tire may perform differently on different vehicles. My wife has always used Firestones on her vehicles, previously I used Goodyear on mine. I tried Firestones on one of my foreign sports cars and they were terrible. I went back to Goodyear.

yes, I have heard a lot of good things about Toyo as well.

Another thing is that there is a common size of Michelin class A MH tires which are made only you Michelin. So a slight change in size may be made in going to another brand. I believe Toyo has a close substitute.

What size of Toyo's? MH has 225/80R22.5 Michilans and I am not sure which size to go with in other brands. Any suggestions would be great.
