Hello all. Beginning to plan a trip that includes Sequoia, Yosemite and the Tahoe areas . Looking for advice on routes and additional areas to stop. I hear mammoth area is nice.

Also any suggestions on return routes.

Hope to do early spring before the crowds or early fall after the crowds. We are "shoulder season" travelers.

Very early stages of planning so looking for direction / advice.

Early year go visit death valley. Then Reno. Then Tahoe.

You figure the rest out.

Ive heard the drive down 395 is nice. Maybe use that for the return? Hit Mammoth area on the way home?

Temperature is important, therefore timing is important.

Just looking for route and cool places to stay. Ill be going either after the snow stop or before it starts falling.
