So electronic. Look up the manufacturers instructions. You will likely need a large empty parking lot.

I needed empty Ocean to set My boat auto pilot. But your initiation sequence would likely be different based on manufacturer.

Yah, that's what they do with an old school compass, not the same as the electronic system he asked about.

My suggestion is to call the manufacturer of teh compass, or at least get a manual.

The one in my Expedition said in the manual to put it in the calibrate mode. and drive in small circles 3 times then turn off the calibrate mode.

That is what I was thinking, the question is how to put it in calibration mode.

I can't see that Accuracy is All that important on land but it might be.
