Fresh water tank drain question?

After draining my fresh water tank, there is still about 1.5 inches of water left in the bottom of the plastic tank. Any creative suggestions as to how I can get it out?

I'm not sure what RV you have but I know this is common and especially a concern for winterizing but the word is it's not. Ice formed at the bottom, should it occur, would not cause harm.

Good point. Also, if you really want to get it all out it’s going to be hard. It’s likely there is a 1.5-in lip inside the tank where the drain enters the bottom, which is why you had 1.5-in of remaining water.

parking at an incline might get you down to 1/2” - 3/4” remaining but won’t get it all out.

for the rest, go to Chick-fil-A and grab a bunch of drinking straws and connect them all end to end - just kidding don’t do that. You’ll just end up with drinking straws in your tank when they inevitably come apart.

I like to take a little drive with the drain valve open. Slosh around the liquid and most of it will find its way to the drain. Plus, the coach gets a little exercise too.

Somewhat on topic....with that little 1/2” drain in my DS it can take almost 3 hours to gravity drain the tank unless I help it along with the water pump. Is this normal or is my drain valve/line somehow plugged? It’s been like this from day one.

I was wondering this too. I need water pump on in order to low point drain. I haven't tried opening the manual fill valve as it may be an air lock issue.

Low point drains don’t drain your tank, they drain your lines past the water pump.
