My followup question is the shift lever will be in neutral or drive? The manual seems to say drive, but that goers against what I have done in the past when towing a GMC Acadia wheels down. Can anyone give me simple steps to towing a 2019 Tahoe 4x4 with keyless start? GM manual is confusing In some ways. I need like step one engage 4 wheel dial etc.

That is very helpful observation. This is my first towing a 4x4 vehicle, previously I had a GMC Acadia that was not 4 wheel drive, but towable wheels down but you put the transmission gear lever in neutral. I guess just to be safe I will put the gear lever in neutral. This car is keyless and that is harder to adjust to in towing. Thanks again for your remarks.I believe that when the transfer case is in Neutral, the driveline is completely disconnected from the transmission. The transmission shift lever being in Drive should not be a problem. I suspect (but don't recommend trying) that it could be in any position, including Reverse, since the transmission and driveline are disconnected from one another.
