I don't know what the official name for this "sliding cover" is, but hit a switch and it comes out of nowhere and covers the entry steps. Great for keeping small dogs from falling down the entry steps while the motor home is moving.

But my dog weighs 85lbs. Does anyone know what these step covers are rated to hold?

TIA

Jim

It can hold you. It's strong enough for people. I rarely use mine and I dread that thing not going back down :)

Thanks Neal!

I seem to remember something about the "step cover" only being rated to support 100 or 125 pounds. We were told at some point that we should not stand on it. I can't put my finger on exactly where that information came from, but it has stuck in my memory for some reason.

Interesting. I’d love to know.

We should still be OK, Rex is only 85*, and I doubt he'll be out on the edge of it. Mostly he just likes to be next to his Mom, so as long as he can get next to the side of her seat, we'll be fine.
