    Balancing Beads

Have no personal experience with beads but understand they are used in the industry. I have read that they can plug up various tire pressure monitoring systems and that there are screens that can be used to prevent this issue.

    Blowing tires

...out of the sun as much as possible, make sure they are inflated properly to what it says on the side of the tire and use a tire pressure monitor system. My last RV had D rated tires from the manufacturer. The max loaded weight of the RV put these tires right to the max as well. Sure enough...

New to Camping, New to Forum Tire Troubles

No matter what tire you purchase, get at least a Load D rated tire. Must have TPMS. Inflate your tires to 5psi less than what it says on the side of the tire. When you get on the road, the tire pressure will increase 5-8 psi at 65 mph. I’ve hauled my 30’ trailer 11000 miles from north Texas to...

    Question New TOAD research

Tire pressure monitoring system. You definitely want one on all the tires. You won’t know you have a problem in the back without it until it’s too late. I had a flat on my toad and there would be no way I would know that without it.

    New RVer

There are numerous TPMS units on the market, but I think the most commonly used ones are the TST 507 (Truck Systems Technologies) and the EezTire. Both are reasonably easy to set up and use. And, both include audible warning capability to alert you when tire pressure and/or temperature falls...

Grommet and TPMS issues with inside dually tires

I also exchanged the flow through sensor for the smaller Cap models. I did have a inner air valve extension fail on an inner rear tire but not sure it had anything to do with the EEZRV sensor. Now Carry spare valve extensions in the tool box. Chasing air pressure through the western states with...

Question Rettroband - are they worth it?

In my opinion, if you purchase name brand tires, watchout for old build dates when purchasing tires, manage your tire pressure, use a TPMS, monitor the tire condition, replace aged tires 5-7 years from date of mfg., and watch you tire temps, you should never be surprised by a blowout. Just in...

    Question TIRE PRESSURE ADVICE?

...regardless of which pressure you choose to use as a starting point. If you want a softer ride it requires more attention to tire pressure monitoring and maintenance. Your call. If you want to worry about other stuff then you can have starting pressures closer to the maximum and have a...

Check your tires every travel day!

That's the system I plan on buying before we head out this spring/summer. For those who avoid Bezos whenever possible (as I do), here are some other sources: https://tsttruck.com/shop.html https://technorv.com/collections/tst-1 https://www.etrailer.com/s.aspx?qry=tst

    Question RVi Tire Patrol

I use TST and I wish there was a screen that displayed all the tires pressures at the same time. I hate the one at a time and keep looking down and taking my eyes off the road to see the pressures/ temperatures. I say this because I like to monitor for a big difference between tires...

    TPS Monitors

I'm in the market for a TPS unit so I can keep an eye on my tire pressures and temps. We recently had a tire blow out on our Jeep Grand Cherokee while we were towing it. The tire was almost 60' behind us so I didn't hear it or feel it. I was even watching it in my back up camera that stays on...

    Tires.....!

Just remember people who review tend to only do so when things are bad. If you take into consideration how many tires are sold each year and how many are giving bad reviews it's probably a small amount. Install pressure and temperature monitors on each tire and have a roadside service then don't...

FYI TST Truck 507 Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)

I'm wondering if the TST 507 and the EEZTire TPMS units are actually the same unit under the brand-name wrapper. Our EEZTire monitor very closely resembles that of the TST 507 and the sensors appear identical. I remember looking at both units when we bought ours and having the same thoughts...

    New

Yowza. Go get a TPMS Monitor. A big cause of blowouts is usually under inflation. Sometimes over inflation but more often under. Once your 5er is loaded up the way you plan to travel with it, including tanks, get a four corner weight and then pull up your tire manufacturers tire chart and adjust...

    Wireless TPMS Good or Bad

...told by the service department that is doing my warranty work on my new bay star that they stopped selling the TPMS (Wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems) because it was causing the tire stems were to leak. I think I have rubber stems and was told to switch to mental. Anyone have any...

    Yes we are Newbies

...I will suggest two things to start you out that could save you some time, money, and actual pain. 1. purchase a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) and screw the external sensors on your RV tires. 2. use only Scott's RV toilet paper and flush with about twice as much water as you think...

Trouble with Hadley self leveling on 2008 Essex 45' tag

...antennas placed on the frame in the front, on the sides, and rear of the coach. Not sure if they anything to do with the Hadley system, or a tire pressure monitoring system? It always shows the orange low on the rear HWH leveling system control panel. Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

    This is sad...

A horrible tragedy. Not much is known at the moment what happened and the causation. I plan to monitor the findings. I have two points of view on this. First- In CA you need a class b non commercial license to drive a coach over 40 feet and it’s not trivial and incredibly time consuming...

    Retrobands

Had to look into that post. Not much info regarding the cause or secondary factors. And hard to tell the age and condition of the tires, but the coach is older, for sure. So, not to discount the value of the RETTROBAND...HOWEVER... I’ve listened to the presentation from the inventor and CEO of...
