    Ideas please, ty :)

Try Harvest Hosts. I haven't used it much but I have a friend that travels between Phoenix and Coeur d'Alene Idaho and he uses it for his trips and different routes https://harvesthosts.com/

Good Sams Escapees Passport America Golden Pass (COE) Open Roads (TSD) AARP Use the Open Roads and Golden Pass the most. Good Sam’s is next. Pretty sure I’m not going to renew the Passport America.

Where were you with your NEWMAR today?

I had a hard time getting into a campground enroute to a business stop in Ashburn, VA (my data center location) so I decided to use my Harvest Hosts membership. I found a winery and booked it. Harvest Hosts has really improved the system but they also have strict rules now to help retain hosts...

Leaving Parking Lights on at Rest Stops?

We’ve done Harvest Hosts several times and try to when we can. Sometimes we just want to make a quick stop, eat diner, hit the bed and then get back at it and get to the destination.

    Harvest Host members

...not accommodate us, only because they were hosting a wedding and just didn't have room. But, the fabulous experiences we have had with Harvest Hosts far outweigh that one. Super program, and as long as it's available, we will continue our membership. We always call ahead to make our...

I just got on to a new site for RVers?

This is our 4th year using Harvest Host. Like Neal stated, sometimes it gets you closest to your designated stop. If you only like to travel say 300 to 350 miles at a jaunt and there is NO RV parks near that desired stop distance, it is another alternative. I still think it's better than...

Boondocking (dry camping) is such a joy

We're looking forward to our boondocking in the Badlands in a few weeks. We've stayed at some Harvest Host locations that are pretty close to being remote.

The days of same day booking for parks seem to be gone.

You can give Harvest Host a try. Look it up, for a small yearly fee you can stay at restaurants, breweries, farms, and much more. And yes you are boon docking but there always a place to stay. Last year on a 6000 mile trip out west we stayed at an abandoned missile silo, a beautiful winery on...

    Air Force museum (Dayton, OH)

I love visiting air museums as I am a pilot so like anything aviation. We have been Harvest Host (HH) members for years. We use them whenever we are in traveling between parks. We have even taken several Harvest Host trips using only HH.

    Campground Costs

Boondockers Welcome is an established source for sites like this, I think with a 5 day max, owned by Harvest Hosts now. So that’s a good reaource for what you’re talking about. They cant charge for space but can charge for hook-ups for those that have them. Many county and city parks are very...

FYI Proper jack pads for motorhomes

...our first coach and didn't think they provided enough increase in surface area to justify the high cost. We tend to stay at a lot of Harvest Hosts while traveling and Snap Pads didn't prevent jacks from sinking in. We found these at an RV Show and work well but even these we had them sink...

Where were you with your TIFFIN today?

Well we put on about 375 miles today. Stopped at Harvest Host Pals Brewery.in North Platte Nebraska. Great craft beers, custom pizzas and nachos. Parked in a huge field just for Harvest Host customers. Very friendly, very nice. HH

    Rattlesnake safety

Found at a Harvest Host in the Texas panhandle recently. I have the dubious distinction of the first sighting of the season. Heebee-jeebees, man.

Where were you with your NEWMAR today?

MB Roland Distillery in Pembroke, KY (Harvest Host). Our second night after leaving the Newmar International. Good ATT, T-Mobile wifi, and LOTS of bourbon. Now I have to drink more bourbon - can you believe it?

How do you choose a campsite?

...Corp of Engineers, Federal parks, State, County and City parks when we stay at a park. We love off grid, boondocking, and we use Harvest Hosts when traveling down the road. Throw in an occasional Walton RV Park( Walmart) as well. I use a multitude of camping apps and google maps to select...
