How to connect solar generator to Electrical Panel from inside

Hi Everyone We recently experienced during a trip to national park that we cannot run generator during quite hours. I have got a solar generator Jackery 1000 explorer to have my Refrigerator, fan and few lights running based on need. Do you have any recommendation on how to connect it to the...

    Solar Panel question

I have a small, simple camper for off-grid only camping. It has a 100W solar panel on the roof and an 80W 'briefcase' portable back-up. These charge my system adequately and we have plenty of strong sun here. Our power usage is very small - just the fridge control panel, furnace fan when needed...

How did you wire your MPPT solar charge controller in? Do you have the negative from solar charge controller going straight to the load and charge side of the victron smart shunt or the magnum bmk? Where did you wire the positive side of the MPPT ?

    Must haves for boondocking

Update on the 5000 BTU solar A/C. I started out installing snaps on the A/C and the on the Fabric Divider that unrolls and separates the cab from the living area. Temps were not what I wanted. The good that came out of this was the Removable magnetic screens I designed and built for the Cab to...

Make Solar Prep standard on all coaches

Don't make Solar Prep an option, make it STANDARD in ALL Newmars. This sets Newmar above the others, make every coach "green" solar ready. Solar prep is nothing more than running the 6 AWG wires to the roof and ethernet to the inside. I'm sure the costs could be covered in the sale price...

Make Factory Lithium 3rd Battery Upgrade truly "plug-in-play"

I believe SES does the install for Newmar. I suggest bypassing Newmar and reaching out to Solar Energy Systems in Nappanee.

I'm an idiot. I backed into a wall.

Wow you guys had some great boo boos. That lost end cap must of been a heart ache. BUT I still have you all beat. I cleared my whole roof, three solar panels, two air conditioners, one satellite dome, one OTA antenna, two super vent domes poof all gone. Watch out for low bridges. HH

...of 105AH LiFePo4 batteries from Lion Energy and our converter automatically detected them after a cycle of use. I did have to reprogram the Solar Charger though, by raising it up to 14.6v. If you don’t do so the battery will charge, just not up to 100%. The 100W solar panel (at best)...

FYI Solar 101 - A General Guide to Solar in your RV or Motorhome

I am not a solar expert but I have learned a lot from others here mainly @Chuggs who guided me through my solar install which I mirrored his setup and then took it a few steps further. I wanted to share what I have learned to date as it may help others and I welcome others that also installed...

If the solar is properly installed turning off the power to the house will not stop charging from the solar.

    Solar for Dummies

Not looking to upgrade solar system Just want to know what I can expect out of the system as is. The solar system was not a deciding factor when the RV was purchased. I considered it a perk, boy was I wrong. If I had known that it basically didn't do anything except charge the battery, I...

    Coachman TT with electric/propane refer?

which coachman travel trailer has 2-way refers for off grid camping? Solar/lithium batteries not exactly affordable for retired folks. Propane is inexpensive compared to spoiled food when batteries go below 50% charge and fail. thanks

Pre wired for solar help needed.

Purchased a (like new) used 2017 Venture Sonic Lite (SL167VMS) 20' tt last Saturday. The owners manual says it is "pre wired for solar" and "pre wired for a back up camera". I have found nothing on line to assist me with what I need to do to add solar to my pre wired trailer. Only unidentified...

...I'm around CA, NV, AZ, UT, areas. Willing to go to other nearby areas too. If any of you have recommendations for a business that will install solar atop a van roof, please share. My van is brand new so I only feel comfortable hiring only a regular business to do the work. People told me...
