So you want to live in Florida?

That’s where we lived “Clermont”. 1995-2003. Back then Hwy 50 was a 2 lane country road. We go back quite often as my daughter still live there. Hwy 50 is now 5 lanes and bumper to bumper.

So you want to live in Florida?

I lived in central Fl for 10 yrs. I had enough of that kind of heat. December & January seem like the only comfortable months so we moved to south central Tennessee. Now it’s reversed. December & January are the uncomfortable months because of cold, but not that bad.

    Question All time favorite campgrounds?

I’m not a big fan of KOA. There prices always seem kind of high, but we’re more down to earth kind of people. We don’t need the campground to supply entertainment, social hour or drinks. Nothing wrong with it or people who enjoy it. It’s just not for us. We really enjoyed Dakota Sunsets in...

    Florida to the Grands Canyon

That’s is true. I’ve seen some of those and I just kept on going. We use RVParky while traveling. Usually in the morning I have an idea how far I want to go, then use RVParky to “scope out the area” and look at reviews. I may pick out several along the way just in case I may travel shorter or...

    Question Paint Oxidation

On a couple travel trailers, motorhome, and a plane I use to have with bad oxidation I used Zips high solids or high traffic floor polish using a micro fiber cloth wiping in a horizontal direction. It worked great and lasted a long time.

    Flooring

I’ve seen rolled laminate flooring adhesive fail before. Do you see any places where the floor looks like it is not secure? It could be just that. My class A had a soft floor and it was actually the OSB they used flexing. The foam they used for insulation under the OSB compressed over the...

    Florida to the Grands Canyon

We travel mostly the southeast, but our one big trip (so far) was to Alaska and back. We had a route planned, but we tended to stop when we felt like it. Some days were long drives, others short. We travel with pets as well and they too will tell you (in their own way) when they need a break...

BLOG The $299 Starlink Mini deal is back—and RVers may want to look again

I’m not a full timer and just went through an ice storm that took out my fiber internet for almost two weeks. I ordered the residential max and got not only the home dish free with mini mesh router (arrived in 3 days), but also a free mini dish to arrive in another week. The Max runs $120 a...

Question All dash warning lights remain on after repair of ABS sensor.

With systems now a days you can’t just replace a sensor. You will have to reset the system. I’d take it somewhere and have a scanner check for any stored malfunctions caused by the broken sensor. Some readers are able to reset the codes to see if they reset. Also you may have to disconnect...

    Question Changing Front Tire Size

You have the Ford 53 chassis with the V10 Titan engine. If this did not happen until you changed your tires, the tire size “could” be an issue. That chassis has an anti skid system on it. You have speed sensors at each wheel. If the smaller tires are small enough to indicate a faster speed...

Vision xl 36c bent tow hitch receiver

There may not be tongue weight, but the when stopping the force the toad could have on the hitch could be a lot. If you have a toad breaking system it may not be adjusted correctly.

    Back in Silver Springs . . .

20 yrs ago we took a boat up the Silver River into the park. Water so crystal clear. Park personnel weren’t to happy for us being there so we quickly travelled back out of the park.

    Ford V10 Engine tuning

I’m amazed that you figured the fuel mileage to a 1/4 a gal difference. You get that much change an a daily basis. I will say my fuel use changes are much greater just based on terrain . Keeping in haul mode all the time is a personal preference and that’s fine. I choose not to because I...

    Ford V10 Engine tuning

I don’t use tow/haul much. I like coasting down hills with my foot off the throttle. (Save fuel and allows engine/transmission cooling) unless it’s a steep downgrade then I turn it on. The V10 is a low compression engine so it does help, but not much.
