2004 Roadtrek Versatile 190 advice

You guys are probably spot on. I just talked to another dealer whose highly respected; a family owned business for many years. Two of my friends purchased new rigs from them. They have just taken in a 2008 Roadtrek Popular 190: one owner, kept under cover in Georgetown,TX, 60K miles, out the door for $49K. Thoughts? Also EZ I will check out the site you suggested. Appreciate your help.

Go look at this page that averages all the sales prices for Roadtrek Versatile 190's for sale on every platform they can find. Avg sale price is $32,711 nationwide. $49k is way too much money according to this. Please do not pay attention to NADA. Their information comes from Dealers. Do you want the dealers to tell you what their vehicle is worth??? Did you know that Dealers don't even use the Blue book that they show the public? Dealers use the Black book for your trade-in. Funny when you start talking about your trade that they suddenly throw the blue book out and switch books, eh? I've worked for Dealers for 30 years. I know how they operate. The game is rigged against you.

Hi. I'm new here. I have put a deposit down on a 2004 Roadtrek Versatile 190. It has approximately 25000 miles on it and has been in storage for about 6 years. They have replaced the rotors, fuel pump and tires. There was also a window that needed to be replaced and they are recaulking around all the other windows. This rig is on consignment at American Dream Vacations. I noticed on the invoice that they sent me showing my deposit that there was a line item for a PDI Certified RV Inspection for $500. I was going to have it inspected by an RV specialist myself. Since they dud it, shouldn't that be a charge they absorb? Should I repeat the process? I will of course get it checked out by a mechanic even though they say it "runs like a kitten'. When I first looked at it they were in the repair process. It was pretty dirty too. Now its ready to test drive/inspect tomorrow. My concern is that it has been sitting for years. I dont want to buy a money pit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

organize4u (Marie), I will be inquiring on the 2004 Roadtrek Versatile 190 that I think you were looking at. I would like to know your experience with American Dream Vacations. Were you able to drive the Versatile?

My 1997 Roadtrek was totaled last month and I am looking for a new one. Prices seem to be $10,000 over what they were a year ago because sales of RVs are way up because of Covid, regardless of what Roadtrek 190 versatile For Sale | Avg $31,338 | Used Campers & RVs says. I looked at some of the sites they get their data from and it is often old data that has never been removed. Also some has the same posts listed on multiple sites. No way can a site have 359 Roadtrek Veratile 190s for sale https://www.smartrvguide.com/rvs-for-sale?k=roadtrek+versatile+190, and that is where they are getting some of their data. RVTrader, the largest not-free list site, isn't even used in their evaluations.

I think prices will come back down when the RV demand from Covid goes away, although some people can now work from their RV instead of the office.

Go to FB and find the RV Prices and Appraisals page and do some reading. They also have a website. I've used them myself. They have up to the minute data on RV sales through the Manheim auctions as well as used RV sales from Dealers and all other used RV sales that they can track. They can tell you the CURRENT value of the EXACT model and year RV you are looking to buy. They will save you THOUSANDS of dollars by arming you with data to take with you to the seller for when you negotiate price. Good luck!
