Hey all,

Long shot here but I'll take any and all advise or suggestions. Motor will very intermingling "not" start. Most of the time it will start. Occasionally, turn key on, dashboard lights, turn key and nothing. The only observable difference is, when you turn key if the "PRND321" lights illuminate, it WILL start, if they DO NOT it won't start. Now I have turned key on and jumped the starter, motor will crank but not start. I have also played with the starter relays, have not confirmed an issue with them nor have I ruled them out. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Check the battery, is it charged to full power? (12.5-12.7v) Check the battery cables, make sure they are tight and for corrosion.

Anytime I have had any vehicle not start, I start at the battery and work my to the ignition switch inside which includes the gear shift to make sure it making contact inside the column so the ignition knows it not in gear to make sure all works. At some point along the journey you will find the issue. In your case it sounds like the shift column is not making contact with the ignition switch in the column to show it's not in gear.

You say the column lights not on! How about the dashboard lights, or headlights?

Thanks for the replies.
New battery, all cables and connection to starter are clean. I do have good headlights and dashboard does light normal, except for the PRND321.

This will be something outside the box.

We got stranded on the ride last month and I called a mobile RV mechanic to take a look, after hooking up diagnostic, and 2.5 hrs later he could not find anything and still wouldn't start. Then, it started. Once it starts, all is good and 10 hrs. later we made it home.
Someone mentioned the security system.
MH has a factory "security system". Not sure what it is, only induction is a red flashing key on dashboard.

I would start by checking all grounds.

The next time it leaves you stranded, I would try shifting transmission to neutral and wiggle the selector to see if the shifting lever lights go on. That will indicate the linkage needs adjusted.

Other than that my guess would be the main power relay in the fuse block.

Let us know!

Update:
After three repair shops and several hundreds of dollars later, the culprit may have been found.
Anyone with a Freeland that has weird issues start diagnosis at the relay box under the hood. This issues was Relay #1 "power control module".
Last year I had another weird problem and it was the Diode that controls the fuel pump. (Located in relay box)
Road trip at the end of the month we will put it to the test.
