Hello! Brand new to forum. I have a question for you savvy travelers. We purchased our 5th wheel in 2020 brand new because we loved the layout. I wanted a Grand Design due to the reputation of quality but settled on the "Cougy". We were totally happy for the first 2 years and then slowly little things started to pile up. Nothing big and we learned thats the way of these RV's rolling down the road. Our fourth year we started to notice both the kitchen and dinette floors started to sag? Not a problem bringing then in or out. Brought it to our dealer and they promptly said that your floors need to be replaced. I was quoted $4,000.00 a side. I'll do the math....... 8 thousand dollars in our fourth year. I said I will wait but could they check where the water is coming from. They replaced a seal around the window. Well, this year we noticed more sag and the press board swelling more. I feel like I need to get it done in the spring of 2026. PS presently out on the road 3,000 miles from home. We live in the northeast upstate NY. Typically we go on 4 trips a year with the biggest one 5,000 miles last year. Most no more than 500 miles up until now. I have a few questions for ya'll.
Is it common for the floors to get spongy after 4 years and suggested to replace them?
Is the $4,000 a side reasonable?
Is there a brand that uses pressure treated wood?
Anyone else have a wet floor problem?
Thanks for your help in advance!!!!
Mike
