I have a 2026 OVR Navigate. The rooftop window is supposedly different from the early models. The window panel itself is two layers with a space in between, so there is no condensation or dripping from it. It is some kind of polycarbonate or similar material and cannot shatter as the older ones reportedly did.
We had a leak at the rooftop window during big rains last weekend. I took the window shade frame entirely off (just four screws, at the corners, hold it in place) while it was leaking so that the exact point of leakage could be identified. The leak was not between the window itself and the seal that it lands on. The drip issued forth between the metal to metal line of contact where the inside window bezel / ring frame hard-touches the outer window bezel / ring frame. The inner and outer bezels are tightly screwed together, clamping the outer bezel against the skin of the trailer.
I still have to go up and look for a defect in the outer bezel / ring frame to roof skin sealant. If there is no entry point thru the caulk, it could be that the rubber seal contact at the underside of the window’s seal is letting water into the frame somehow, but at the moment, it is not understood how the water can get in there if the outer frame is sealed to the skin. I will be flooding the outside with a garden hose to reproduce the leak event if no obvious caulking defect can be found.
As far as insulation goes, Intech relies on Reflectix bubble foil and the adjacent dead air pocket in the wall frame void space for the thermal insulation. The floor just has the poly barrier material on the underside that is configured as a bonded two skin sandwich with a wavy core and air space, very similar in configuration to cardboard box internal geometry (have cut some of that open on our 2019 Flyer Explore while fixing water leak floor damage).
Our OVR Navigate takes a while to cool down via the roof air when it sits in the mid 90’s Florida summer heat, but it gets there and maintains the cool ok as we sit in the sun and have set the thermostat to 73 F. I don’t doubt that it is not the best for shirt sleeve winter camping at freezing outside temps, but your 40 to 60 F cool weather camping should not be uncomfortable. Likely to burn more propane to keep warm, just don’t be barefoot on the hard floor. We got a couple of rolls of some thin yoga mat material from a “Bin Store” and place the dinette table face down on that, between the twin beds, while towing. We found out that the thin yoga mat material sure helps with bare feet on the woven floor covering. In the Flyer Explore that we have for my solo camping / work trips, the Harbor Freight rolled foam diamond pattern fatigue mat material makes the rubber coin floor better for feet!
With this late reply to your January post, you have already figured out those things that you questioned. Made this post to inform others who are looking at the Intech OVR product. We like ours, with the only complaint being that there is no water pump power switch or indicator light in the bathroom. Gonna fix that myself, very soon...
