Okay! My questions and experience.
It's a garden hose (portable or not)?
How much flow to keep it from coiling?
How much restriction if pressure is not maintained?
To me these are serious questions based on My personal experience.
I thought a lay flat hose My brother dragged about was ideal, My thoughts were storage. But then I found it developed leaks in short measure. It kinked unless the path had enough radius.
Then I found one of the earlier models like you just posted. I do more than wash the rig with My hoses, and it fought me if I didn't waist water. I gave it away! I also found that when coiled the inside diameter was reduced and would lower flow rates.
My friend got a stainless reinforced 100 footer. You could stand on it, and it wouldn't collapse, nor would it kink.
My transfer pump flow was so slow I finally pulled out My 5/8 hose and completed the job. He asked if I wanted the hose. You know My answer.
The white hookup hoses don't like to be coiled on cold mornings and that's when I go get water.
Now a hose that is drinking water safe is on the market that withstands the cold without cracking, and large enough diameter to do the job. I have two of them. One light green, and one light blue.
But I'm still looking for one that takes less space!
