on my last trip I noticed a clunking noise coming from my 5th wheel hitch every time I started or stopped. contacted a local RV repairman and was told my hitch head was probably worn. I purchased a new head from amazon and installed it on my hitch. hooked up the trailer and am still getting a clunking sound but not as bad. on my old hitch head I could see the hitch on my 5th wheel sliding on the top of my truck hitch about 1/4 to 3/8 inches every time I stopped or took off. on my new hitch head (curtis A16) I am still getting a slight clunking sound. is yhis normal?

To a point.. There needs to be a 🤏 room so it latches.

Ours did the same. If we had stayed with a fifth wheel it was going to be a different hitch. A hitch that locks around the king pin seems to be a better choice.

You might call ETrailed and explain you situation. The Customer Support there is usually good.

Don't have and never have had that problem with my Anderson hitch. Smooth ride and no chuckiing!!
