Do you lock your 5th wheel hitch? i.e Replace pins with locks ??

I have a B&W Companion 5th Wheel hitch, RVB3300.

I'm not worried about theft as I am with tampering while unattended. (truck stops, rest areas, Big box retailer,
and even an overnighter at a campground)

I know, I know always Check!, but then there is always gonna be that one time......................!

Years ago i heard stories about tampering but never witnessed it.
When we had are travel trailer and fifth wheel i always locked them.
Did not want to take a chance.

I do not, I do check it every time I leave the rig. Main reason is if the truck or rv catches fire it is a lot easier to unhook.

3 + years full time never more than 3 weeks at any one stop. Never locked although I do try to remember to glance at it when getting in from stop.

I always put a padlock in it. But never actually locked it

I'm going with a lock! I heard several horror stories at campgrounds.
One in particular involves a guy who swears his fifth wheel's king pin was seated in the hitch when he left a rest area. Several miles down the road the trailer became dis-connected and his tail gate caught the king pin.

Also it is a good piece of mind.
