A couple winery suggestions in the Napa area + places to camp….

So to cut right to it: The Terraces, and Truchard. Both produce excellent wines and both realize its just wine. One with hillside experiences; one with under ground facilities. Wines are reasonably priced for Napa, and about as pleasant as it gets for a visit and tasting. Really. Hard to find a better way to spend an afternoon in the area. These are probably wineries you’ve never heard of because they dont make it to resturaunts and grocery stores (not sure about places like Total Wines and BevMo), but from a wine grape grower’s perspective, I find their wines as pleasing as any without all the hype. So if you are in the area, and want an outstanding wine experience, check them out. I think reservations for tasting may be required - better check on that.

Places to stay in Napa that are reasonable and pleasant:
Skyline Wilderness Park Nice staff, great location, low rates
Napa Valley Expo- The RV Park Staff and booking marginal, but rates are ok and its right in town

So there you have it - my reccomendations if you want a “real” Napa wine experience without paying 3 figures for a bottle wine.

Disclaimer #2: I have no issues with spending low 3 figures on good Single Malt, but that lasts several months, while a bottle of wine the same price is gone in one sitting. To me the choice is obvious.
