I am a licensed CDLA holder. I am just tired of the trucking industry and the demand it takes away from family life or low pay. I'm posting to ask if there are others here that hire drivers to move their campers for them so they don't deal with the stress of driving and/or commitment of owning a tow vehicle along with the RV costs. Researching takes me to RV Transports such as Indiana Transport, Wave, etc. I would just be looking to do this as a freelance side gig.
Thank you in advance!

I have transported a couple of 5th wheels (free, since I'm not licensed commercially).

First time was for a total stranger that needed their 5th wheel moved less than a mile from one RV storage to another. I read the request on FB and wanted to help someone in a bind. That was all within 10 miles of my home.

The other time was helping a friend whose daughter was stranded when their Dodge Ram gave up the ghost. That was a Sunday jaunt covering 235 miles. I did this for friends, because I knew they'd do the same for me.

As a retiree, I have considered getting a commercial DL and being willing to transport RVs simply for the travel involved. But, I figure it would drastically increase my insurance if I didn't let them know what I was doing...and might nullify my insurance if I failed to tell them.

And, I tend to agree with Boat Bum - I don't particularly want someone else towing my RV, so how many others out there feel the same?
