My Father-In-Law has a 94 Numar Country Star and believes the AC circuit boards have gone out. Does anyone know of a resource that has replacements? Appreciate any thoughts/ideas you may have. Thanks and be safe!
If it has Penguin 1's like my 1993 Kountry Aire, I could find no control boards. Mine was severely damaged. I found that according to the part number on the board a couple of repair companies were at least familiar with it so I sent it off to one. They found it to be beyond repair. They were very nic and apologetic. They returned the board and didn't even charge me return shipping which I was prepared to pay. That company is Global Electronic Services in Buford GA. To deal with them (or another such place) you have to pull the boards and get all the numbers off them first.
In my case I eventually found the fan motor was what went out and the board was just a casualty.
There are newer replacement control that may be made to work. But a big issue is that they use a different type of control cable from campers as old as mine. I'm not willing to try and run and run a new cable. There are adapters but in all I'd be gambling that I'd be able to make something work that I've not seen others do before me and so I kind of stopped there. I found a deal on a new front unit and am just currently powering it up on "high AC" or back off. The rear AC is still working by the thermostat and so far I've been able to get by like that. Then my transmission went out and AC issues went to the back of the line, especially since they are partly working. My camper is just a weekender so I can put off repairs as I like.
