Depends on the window placement. I basically live in a faraday cage because I don't have windows in my cargo trailer.

Find the tower location and use that window.

I was a novice years ago, decided the expensive equipment wasn't Worth the investment. Picked up the phone instead.

Home learned electronics (board level) as a hobby instead. Built controllers, and repaired CNC machines as a hobby.

But yes My blue collar existence, is deceptive. An employee for contractors with Sandia labs put me in contact with engineers that were on the for front of technology.

I Had the same in radio/transmitters as my (home learned) HAM radio hobby taught me.
Later in years, I shifted into laser receiver electronics, and power supplies, with a minor in 12 V and solay panel battery systems. If you have been across the Pontchartrain causeway, I was project leader for the radio comms, between the 96 callboxes, and the 7 signs, and 3 control points.
Then to consumer electronics, where I was a designer of TV antennas. I even did a stint for the design of an RV antenna, but the Chinese factory that we owned just plain refused to manufacturer it at a competitive price. We sold them and the new company went bankrupt. Been to Elkhart/Goshen, IN, many times demonstrating it, and been inside of the Jayco, Dutchman, and a bunch others that my 80-yr old brain can't remember.
We (the company I worked for 1985 to 1995) did work for Sandia labs.
Retired 2012
Looks like we followed the same path but with different names.

Did Sandia labs in early 80s to Early 90s. We may have crossed paths.
