We are taking off in a couple of days heading up the east coast and my wife is concerned about the Cicada infestation that is currently in NC and Va. Are they causing problems in travel and do they get into the motors. We live in Florida and the Love Bugs here are crazy so we are thinking that it might be the same with the Cicada's. Any help?

I haven’t seen a single one here where I live. If they are an issue, I have read nothing to indicate it.

I was just at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. They’re all over wooded areas. My windshield looks like a paintball target.
At home west of DC I have to sweep my driveway twice a day, while I’m being divebombed by the little b…..ards.

I go back and forth from Pisgah National forest to Rockingham county weekly. Have not seen one of them. I would not for a second worry about them.

In Shenandoah mountains, none up here.
