"Humor is good1". That's according to "Lieutenant Steve" in another of my favorite movies, Good Morning, Vietnam.

Ok, now we have a problem. I just listed my coach and ordered a new 2020, all based on the guaranteed 120% resale value.

@CaptainGizmo how do you plan to make me whole?

I like playing Spin the Gizmo. It's funnnn ?

I just went and purchased 5 2020 DS’s
I figured @ 20% increase each, I will sell them next year and with the profits get a 2021 free and clear. Thanks Captain G

Oh. Good news!

With your mods, on a 2020, I’m forecasting the Red Baron Special will command a tidy profit for you!

I’m lining up my order for a 2021 though. 2020 is so...yesterday. [emoji23]

Sooooo, what I'm hearing is that the value of our 2018 MADP should be increasing 20% a year. Think we'll wait until the value increases 140%, then we'll sell and buy an Essex,,,maybe, even a 2027 VentEssex...with the proceeds. Do I understand this increasing value thing right?

Nope. Sorry. This rapid price increase applies only to the 2019 DS4369.

I'm seeing more 2018's being rotated into 2020 Newmars than I think I've read since I got into this mid 2017. I realize New Aire's are a part of this not only due to the slightly larger size but much better engine and also the initial grief New Aire's had with the "beta" models being first year. But I'm seeing DSDP's turning over from '18 to '20's oddly. Anyone else seeing this or getting the same impression?

Well we didn't have an '18, but we did just flip our '17 for a 2020 DS 4081. It's hard to believe, but I actually made a list of the differences between our 17 and the 20 and I came up with 42 items and that is probably not everything. There was a significant change from 17 to 18 in the layout of the interiors on the DS. They changed up the arrangement of the electronics cabinets, moved the televator button, put a ladder on the emergency exit, made more room for the driver seat up front, etc. But the big change for us on the 20 was in the bath area.

We like to stay in the 40 foot length. We have had a bigger coach, but we like the 40. We seriously looked at the 35 foot New Aire before settling on another 40. What sold us this time was the redesign of the bath area.

Everybody knows the 4369 is the most popular floorplan and a lot of that has to do with the bath. This was, IMO, a weak point for the 4018. While the 4018 has probably been the second most popular floor plan in recent years, it had issues in the bath area. The round shower was cramped. The toilet was in front of the emergency door. The washer dryer were next to the toilet.

We saw the replacement floor plan, the 4081, and quickly realized that Newmar has fixed all these issues. Clear access to the emergency door, larger rectangular shower, and the washer'/dryer have been moved away from the toilet. Overall, a WIN WIN WIN. If the 4081 floor plan had been offered in a MA, we likely would have gone for that instead, but there is always next year.
