Yes the 2017 does have the correct control boards to be directly compatible and plug and play.

Backwater Technology TCCSA makes a thermostat for the older units that is plug and play but no WIFI at this time. If you have a bad thermostat this is a very nice digital replacement and is in the same plastic case as the original.​
