I’ve just rolled back into Silver Springs for the winter, and it seems a few things have changed since I left. Most notably: the liquor store down the street has closed.

Now, I’m not saying that’s my fault… but I’m also not not saying it either.

I mean, maybe the place developed a full-blown financial dependency on me. Then I leave town for a few months, and suddenly their sales graph looks like a ski slope.

I can picture the staff meeting:

Owner: “Business is collapsing! What happened?”
Assistant Manager: “Jim migrated north for the summer.”
Owner: “Well hell… shut it all down. We can’t survive without him.”

Look, I’m sure they had other problems besides my seasonal disappearance. But let’s be honest, the local economy probably breathed a sigh of relief when I pulled back into town. :D:giggle:😛

That may be the first liquor store to go out of business ever. You’ve witnessed history.

I have been here in Silver Springs at the state park for a few days, leaving in the morning. I was able to augment the revenue stream at El Toreo Mexican Restaurant. Love it here but the traffic seems a lot busier this year.
