Battery Bay Refresh

We bought our coach used and it had a small amount of corrosion in the battery bay which has continued to spread somewhat despite my best efforts.. Any recommendations on how to kill all the corrosion and a coating we could put on the bay which would protect it going forward? Any advice would be appreciated.
