2026 Dutch Star. I am looking at wiring my Hughes Surge protector in this compartment. ( in the near future) I am fully capable of the work, just the steps below require input.

As in another thread I would change the termination end of the wire reel from the transfer switch to a female 50 amp outlet. Than the transfer switch would have a male pigtail plug wired in. The surge protector would go in between those. That part is easy.
The coach comes with a Victron Multiplus 3000 and AGM batteries

Now the questions. What to disconnect

1. Turn off Generator Breaker
2.Unplug the 50 amp cord from the power source
3. Turn off the battery switch on the house and the chassis
Questions-
Do I need to disconnect the battery cables also?
Can I just turn off the inverter on the inverter remote screen?
Or do I somehow have to disconnect it?
Where in the process do I do this task?

Am I missing something.
TIA

I would think you would could just shut off the inverter...as the battery bank and the 50amp connection are really seperate... You really want to make sure there is no 120v power coming in from the shore connection or the generator.

I would just turn off breaker at the generator. Leave inverter and DC alone, fridge and all other inverter circuits will be fine, no way to back feed to transfer switch.
