Do you prefer to use your own gas BBQ or the charcoal BBQ furnished at the park?

  • I use my own Gas BBQ, even though there is a Charcoal BBQ furnished at the park.

  • I rarely drag out my Gas BBQ if the park furnishes a Charcoal BBQ.

Like I said, never know what the guy before me was doing. Might have been cooking pineapple pizza on a stone on the grill, which not only ruins the grill but also contaminates the entire site.

On a bit of a more serious note, over the years I have seen people burn garbage, dog poop and other nasty stuff in site BBQs. That keeps me from using them with any confidence. I realize that @Jim will run a great RV park, but he won't be able to totally control what some knucklehead does.

We always cook on our own equipment, even in very nice places with outdoor kitchens. We also carry a little Pizza Pronto propane oven that makes darned fine pizzas, no pineapple allowed? Judy D

We don't carry charcoal.

We carry a small bag of charcoal for when the kids want to some Dutch oven cooking, but even then I don’t have confidence in the prior campers capers or the park’s ability to properly clean.

Wow, 12 out of 12 people won't use it even if it's there! On one hand, I like the idea of not buying a bunch of bbq's, but a campground without a bbq doesn't seem quite right. You all realize I'm talking about a pedestal bbq, right?

They rust and they are a waste IMHO. People dump their food in there. For example I have a blackstone griddle, where do you think people dump their grease collection? Fire pits and grills I've seen. I've seen cigarettes in there, it's disgusting. They wouldn't be missed, they are an eye sore. If people like to grill they will bring their own. If you get complaints and/or requests, react to it. This is something you can test your market and change later. It's also a hazard, imagine a MapKid riding a bike into that and getting a serious injury. It may work good though for me to attach a 30ft dog lead to, hmmm. Okay, that's my $.02.

In over 50 years of camping I don’t recall ever using campgrounds bbq. When I was younger I did put a grate over a campfire and cook, young and dumb then.

Nice BBQ but would prefer a campfire grill. Still wouldn't use the grill but would have the fire, that is nice option.
