Just finished up our annual visit to Freightliner for our 75k service. I knew it was going to be expensive as they had to replace trans fluid and coolant in addition to the engine oil. That morning, I asked the tech to check it out good and let me know if anything else needs attention. He called while we were at breakfast and led in with "the fan gear box seal was leaking". I said ok, no problem, fix it. He then finished with 4 air bags needed replacement. 😬 Indigestion immediately set in and I said I'd be in to talk soon. Now, since something happened with my original appointment in mid Oct and I had to settle for the next open which was on 11/14 (a Friday), I was a little worried that I may be spending a few more days there. He showed me the air bags and I gave them the ok to get it done. They stayed till just before 5 to get the coach done, and we were on our way on Saturday. Not cheap, but great service!

Ha. Assuming you were at Gafney, I must have just missed you as I was there Monday for annual maintenance . I also got surprised as my tag axel air bags were cracked and I had them replaced….

These are expensive beasts to have…

I also had my tag axle airbags replaced during my visit in April.

Make sure you're a member of the FCCC owners club as that gives you 5% off I think. Click here

Remember, you have a huge maintenance and upgrade budget now if you look at what it would cost to buy new now vs. maintaining your legacy ancient 10 year rule approaching soon motorcoach :)

I agree Neal…. We have set money aside for the eventual replacement of worn components .

And I agree on then FCCC membership. Every penny counts.

I have both, but it (f53)still rides like a chuckwagon. There's not enough lipstick made that's going to make a gas chassis ride like a diesel.
And no amount of smooth ride would make me have a huge payment every month compared to my zero
