Weather is beautiful, We are safe, God is good.

We had a blowout of the tag tire in the worst part of the road, but within 5 minutes we had a random tire company stop to help . They have MDOT blocking the lane for us and things are being handled.

I heard the pop and moved over as soon as I could . TPMs went to zero 2 minutes afterwards.

Wowza, glad all are okay. Gorgeous picture though :)

I'm sure all will ask, guessing no indication of something about to happen, it just happened.

glad your safe

I was talking on the phone (Bluetooth hands free) and heard a pop. I knew it was a tire. Was climbing the pass and tried to get over. I thought it was steer tire but turns out it was tag. Once I got as far over as guard rail would allow I saw the tire in mirror. I drove about 100 ft at 3mph and saw tire working itself off rim. Called it quits.

I had a 2 minute thought process to mentally come up with a plan and then TPMs went off….so much for that system.

I called my road side assistance and tire warranty (campers edge) and after about 10 minutes explaining why I don’t have a spare and they need to bring me a tire, I saw a road side truck repair pull in front of me.

We are 2 hrs into waiting for a tire to be brought and then should be good. I will update once this saga is over.

I also note that it was a Michelin! :( I just put six on ours. Can you tell what caused it?

I have had a terrible vibration. Thought it was steer tires. Had them road force balanced and tested and said no problems. I am now wondering if this tire was the problem. I am going to be doing a better check of the tire once it’s not in the traffic lane.

Tire dates are 18th week of 2021, so in the range to replace, but early imho to fail.

It appears no damage to coach.

So the question is when you get new. Michelin or Toyo? I’ve lost faith in Michelin RV tires. Love them for cars. Not RV.
