Best 5th Wheel Hitch

HI everyone. I just bot a Brinkley z3610 and wanted to get opinions on the best hitch to buy for it. I have a 2026 Chevy Silverado 3500 Diesel truck. Thanks and I will enjoy the forum!

I can't offer an opinion for you as We have a Class A motorhome and pull a Jeep but, Welcome aboard from a Canadian!

We have a B&W Patriot and like it. The installation wasn’t bad and it seems well built. No complaints here, but I’ve only put about 1500 miles of use on it.

I had the Reese with the puck system in my F450's, Ford dealer threw it in to seal the deal, Ford put thier name on it as an accessory

I have an Air Ride, but I think that the big Brinkleys have an air ride pin box…

I have a B&W Companion. It is a heavy beast. No problems since I learned to do a tug test every time. Had it 9 years with almost 20k miles.

I’ll say it’s a pain to remove by myself, so I leave it in no matter how long between moves.

Thanks for the responses. I forgot to mention the truck has a 5th wheel prep package so I will need to use a hitch that will attach to that.

That would be the Puck system I mentioned a couple posts above, very common

I love my genY executive. I pull with a short bed ram 3500 and no problems with the 5" set back on the ball. I have turned it 90 degrees and not touched my cab and pulls like a dream.

I got a new Brinkley and it has a torsion bar suspension on the pin. I still have the air ride Trailer Saver hitch and they perform well together.

Ive never understood the need to do a 90* turn with a trailer. Id be afraid of ripping a tire off a rim or breaking a hanger.

certainly not preferred but good to know you can if you get in a bad situation.

I have the B&W Companion too and (at age 76) tired of wrestling it around to get it in and out - even in two pieces when it comes apart. I love the sturdiness of the hitch but the weight is over 150 pounds. We have a carport with electricity and I found an electric hoist on closeout at Harbor Freight and bought it. No more backache from putting it into and out of the truck. I raise it above the bed, pull the truck out and then lower the hitch onto a garden wagon and move it to another carport for storage out of the weather.
