Binoculars for RVing

Who travels in their RV with binoculars? Share what you carry for taking in the views when camping. Prior to my winter trip I picked up a Carson 3D compact binocular and have really enjoyed it.

I have a much larger one my father gave me more for stargazing. This one is something much easier to carry around.

We carry a 40-year-old pair of 8X30 compact binoculars (don't remember the brand off hand) and a pair of 10X50s (Tasco IIRC) with built-in compass.

I Cary my 35 years old Stainer Commander with built in compass from my sailing days. It is too big, but reminds me of the Glory Days?

You never know when you may want them. Something going on in the distance. When I was at Angel Fire there was a strange object in the sky @ARD and I saw. I pulled out the binocs and we realized it was a high altitude balloon. Very cool. You may be looking at wildlife in Yellowstone but I've learned from @ARD that many use spotting scopes for that. I just like having a nice but compact pair of binocs available should I be curious about something in the distance. It was also useful at the Oshkosh Airshow where we were suggested to bring some and I think that's what made me buy mine.

Hmmmm! I do have a pair. Used to take when hiking sometimes. I will have to bring it along next time. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have an older pair of Bushnell's 10x50.
Works great for watching wildlife, etc.

Zeiss Terra 8x32. They're compact and crystal clear.
Kahles 8x42 for hunting.

Tasco 10X42 for all around viewing and a Mead 105mm Cassegrain Telescope with a upright correcting angled eye piece for really looking at something. It works better than my spotting scope.

Link for the Telescope? All of the newer ones have the auto seek computerized functions and aren't really that portable. I found mine at a thrift shop used and abused and had to restore it. It mounts to a Camera tripod so easy to transport. As you probably know, those things show everything upside down and backwards. The erecting prism eyepiece was just a web search and had to make an adaptor to fit. I have a lathe so that was easy. People at the shooting ranges have offered to buy it from me but I don't think I'll ever let it go. it's just too handy and clear.

What are you guys looking at?

We sit in the golf cart down the street from our lot at the Caloosahatchee river and spot gators or at the pond across from our lot. Sometimes the yachts going down the Caloosahatchee or birds around the rv park.
Just a pair of $40 binoculars I bought at Walmart when we forgot the ones I've had for decades.
At home it's deer, bobcats, and a mountain lion one time in the field behind our back yard.
