New guy here.
I have tried several black tank solutions to break down waste and they kind of work.
I need some suggestions on the best chemical to use in my black tank.
Thanks for any help in advance.

I've tried them all. I liked DiGest IT, until a professional sailing racer friend told me about WEST MARINE EXTERMINODOR and I haven't looked back since!
Incredible stuff.

Asked about this while at Newmar for maintenance.

They had issues with the pressure sensors they use for tank levels failing.

Long story short they tested a bunch of the treatments on an old tank. Aqua Max was what they found to do the best in breaking down / cleaning the tank. Been using it since and all the tanks read correct as well as stay clean.

It is less expensive to pick it up at Walmart rather than Amazon also.

I've also used aqua max (over 20 years), works well

We use a gallon of water with a liberal dose of Dawn dishwashing liquid and about two cups of Pinesol. Our black water does not stay in the tank long enough to break down. We dump about every ten days max. Dawn keeps out tanks clean (gauges read correct all the time) Pinesol for the odor.

One of the worst things I can do is accept the invitation for card night in a rig that Dawn or pine Sol is used in the head (allergies).

Then again been a long time that I did card night.😏

Had our cleaned and they recommended the Pine Sol and Calgon mix. Needed to sanitize a little while after that.

Just be Sure all that Pine Sol is rinsed out before sanitizing - bleach and Pine Sol mixing makes bad stuff.

Went back to the Aqua Max after researching that combination.

I would never put bleach down the black tank......or the grey for that matter.

It goes in the fresh tank.

Diluted going to the grey and black when running the sanitizing all the lines.

Never put directly in the grey or black tanks.

If you put it in your fresh tank and then run it through all the lines to sanitize them it going to end up in your black and Grey tanks.
