I have a 16' travel trailer and just love it except for the black tank drain line is angled real low that the ground clearance is really short. Like to simply twist the angle up so the the exit end is just a little below the frame giving me much more clearance. My question is if I loosen the muffler clamp from black tank to the drain pipe can I just twist the angle up a few inches, tighten the clamp and re-chalk the joint? Doesn't the pipe just slide into the tank with an "O" ring or it is fussed like PVC pipe? Thanks in advance.

Pictures would really help.
Sorry but it is in storage for winter right now. Just getting the fever for this spring. It's just a short run before the 90 degree bend, maybe 3' total. I was just wondering if the tank is fused on the pipe or do all of them just slide into the tank with an "O" ring. Hate to twist and pull and snap off the fussed end and end of tank. Hate it when every manufacturer does it differently. Understand if info is lacking.....

Pulled up an old picture of just the profile of it. As you see it really low. There is a hanging clamp at the end near the drain that I can modify to support it. Hope this helps.

I've learned to never assume any TT is the same as any other ;-)

It looks to me like there's a rubber coupling with 2 hose clamps on it, if that's what's there then sure... you should be able to loosen up the hose clamps and rotate the outlet pipe up. Depending on how old, the rubber coupler may be stuck and might require some effort to break free.

Worse case you can always get some ABS piping/coupler/glue and cut/reroute as you see fit. I'm fairly sure it's just regular ABS plastic pipe.

It looks like it will be fairly level if tipped up. Take extra care to flush out the tank if you don't have any slope to that pipe.

I just looked underneath and never actually crawled under it to see the material construction. Thanks for the info and will give it a try.

Yep definitely will do the slope but not such a drop off a cliff. Have plenty of room for it as you see. Thanks for the heads up.
