Hi. We will register our truck and trailer (when we buy them) in Texas, where we have an address.
However, the trailer we want to buy is in the NW. There is a big distance in between. How do we manage this? Does the trailer have to be physically in Texas for us to register it there. Many thanks for your input.

Some states are different but when I bought my Thor Chateau in Austin TX ,they put a 30 day temp tag on it and gave me the paperwork to register and pay taxes etc in LA..Same with my Stingray I bought at chev dealer in Tyler TX...But I paid cash , if you are financing the bank will handle the paperwork

I bought our class A in Florida and registered it in Iowa. I put insurance on it and drove it home with the title and build of sale with no issues at all. Do make sure how the tax laws work in both states as you could end up paying taxes twice.

We have been in the boat and RV finance business for a long time. We have never seen a bank do state work. They MIGHT find an outside company to do the work especially when out of state. Some smaller banks will not even lend out of state because they lose control over lien placement and don't have a smooth way to be sure of what is needed. We do private party state work and there are some very specific steps to get it done. Not rocket science but certainly a process.
Let me know if we can help.
Ken

Bought a Class C in Los Angeles, inspected it and had all paperwork dated and just drove it back to Texas. Was told that IF you got a ticket it would be cheaper than the taxes you’d pay. You buy in Oregon, you will pay state taxes you’d get a 30 temp tag.

I recently took my new title on a used Chinook back home to my local DMV in Alaska... Rig will live in the lower 48 for a while... but it now has Alaska tags on it. A dealer can send new titles directly to your state DMV for tags with your address

Hes not lending out of state..hes buying and returning home

Been awhile since I had to do this - but IIRC some states will issue a temp tag without having to register the vehicle. In this situation check with the DMV in the state where you are purchasing the RV and see if they will issue a temp tag or a trip permit to you.
