My only complaint about Kananaskis is the park pass is pricy for what you get, especially if you're staying in Banff in a year when you already had to pay for a Parks Canada pass (not this year).

Ya so.........I have never had a Kananaskis pass. I was a Camp Host for Alberta Parks and when chatting with Mr. Ranger sir, I was told that checking license plates was not a priority thus...........

But you are correct. Unless, you spend a lot of time there and can make use of the yearly pass, it gets expensive. Biut still a better option than Banff in my book.

Not sure the topic line of this thread is proper. I only know of one person having a feud with Canada. I love my Canadian friends and neighbors. They come here, inject money into our economy. I would have no issue visiting Canada.
I have been to Canada a few times, but not with an RV. Having had a few neighbors recently do an rv trip up there, they had nothing to say but good things about Canada, the people and the beauty of the country.

Some very popular photo spots in the USA are like this with lake shore shoulder to shoulder with photo takers, such as The Maroon Belles in Aspen.

When we visited The Maroon Belles we had the entire place to ourselves - literally. Except for a couple hikers who were hiking out after camping overnight.

Just select shoulder seasons and ungodly early morning hours to avoid crowds.

The video of the Banff Avenue crowds are typical of any summer day (mid May until the first of September) probably starting around 9:00 to 10:00 AM until dusk. Now, the best time to visit the area is mid to late September. Crowds are probably less than 50% of the summer visitors.

The days are usually still warm and the fall colors spectacular. Evenings and nights are cool to cold but it makes for great sleeping. The same would apply to Lake Louise. You can beat the crowds in the summer by hiking but you first have to get to the lake which is a challenge on it's own. The hike to the Lake Agnes Tea House is only a little strenuous and then a bit farther to the Plain of Six Glaciers is definitely worth it. From there, you once could see the Abbott Hut but it has now been torn down. The Abbot Pass Hut was once one of the highest permanent habitable structures in North America at an elevation of 9596 feet.
