The new state doesn’t care if you spend a day there if you are paying taxes. The issue is the state you are claiming to leave. They will want their tax money if you give them an opportunity to get it. Not nearly as much of an issue if you are retired but as I mentioned earlier, if you are working for a business that is in the state you left they “may” come
Looking.

Another thing that has to be considered is "where are your doctors?" In my case obviously here in VA. And I know some fulltimers have doctors in a location that is not their domicile, and that's fine. I guess the potential gotcha in VA is if I need to be home for an extended period of time for medical reasons and can't get away for six months. The question is whether VA is really going to spend time to track you down. Per chatGPT when you put as many eggs in the domicile basket such as Driver's license, Voter registration, Addresses with IRS, bank accounts, vehicle registrations, FL address, FL declaration of domicile...i.e. if you do all you're supposed to do, you should be safe. I had quite the conversation with chatGPT on this and if it knew of any cases where people were tried for this and it couldn't find anything. You either legitimately make the changes and go all in and do it right, or you only try to do something to get around the IRS for example, then you have a problem. chatGPT mentioned if this was a problem SBI wouldn't be doing it for as long as they have. It's done by RVers, Mariners, Airline pilots, on and on. It's a system that's been ironed out and I'm planning on doing it and maybe it will force me out of this house! :) I plan to continue to own this home until further notice but I've traveled more than 6 months a year most years I've owned my RV until recently.
