We usually try to time our arrival but often get in early. Never experienced a CG who denied early check-in if the site was vacant

However, I can understand their concern to have the site inspected after the previous occupant departs and before you set-up.

I'd hate to be blamed for any damages (like taking out a utility post) incurred by a prior occupant due to nobody noticed.

I'm patient and very understanding but I'm even more patient if they're competent and explain why I'm waiting

A liitle explanation often avoids a negative experience...
