So, i stupidly got some pink antifreeze into my fresh tank when i winterized it (first time). apparently i did something wrong and used the pump incorrectly and it all went into the tank as well as the lines.
Didn't have time to mess with it in the winter... it was the night before a freeze so i just needed to get it done and so far, it looks like nothing popped so i guess i did ok there.
Now, it's spring, and today's self is calling last fall's self an idiot.
While we never drink the water, and i understand it's not toxic, i don't know how well i can actually flush it out. we do wash hands and the kids occasionally forget and use it on their toothbrushes/etc.
Planning to fill it up, drain it, fill it, drain it, fill it, drain it, fill/bleach it, drain it and leave it dry as i can with all drains open.
a week or so later, fill it for use with a tablespoon of bleach, hoping that's enough before heading out for the first trip.
