I love that we have both decided that this RV is likely the only one that we will ever own, barring some catastrophe. With no regards to resale value, Kathleen and I are slowly turning the GT5 into our own.First the dinette and sleeper sofa were ditched because they are uncomfortable and ugly. We have no grands and never have overnight guests, so keeping sleeping areas for 3-4 more people is unnecessary.
Those damn dial pull down shades/blinds were so noisy on the road. We even made Velcro tabs to hold them to no avail. Who in the RV industry decided that putting carpet on the already hideous window valances was a good idea?! It’s like the stereotypical “Dad” was in charge of window treatments in the RV industry. They’re gone and colorful curtains have replaced them.
The same “School of Design” that created the valances put the upholstered headboard on the king bed. Really? This is a 2017 Class A motorhome with a 1974 headboard… It’s gone and our love of the Florida coast and the sea is reflected in the headboard and curtains.
New upholstery for the driver and navigator seats is next.
