I’ve a question for the group as maybe someone has done something similar. We have bought a 15 London Aire 4553 and it has the booth/couch combination on the driver side (ODS). I think it is called the U couch or HAB sofa. See photo.

What we’d like to do is remove the couch and replace it with two recliners. I’ll source the recliners from somewhere or (initially) use the Lazy Boy wall huggers from our house.

So a couple of questions: 1) can the couch/sofa be removed, by dismantling it and hopefully through the door? 2) I’m expecting there is carpet under the couch?

One thing that we‘ll be giving up is the full queen size hide a bed in this couch as the door side is only the fold down type. Not a huge issue as In 10 years of owning coaches we’ve only needed the hide a bed a couple of times.

thanks.

Not exactly the same but we had Flexsteel theater seating removed and installed Lambright theater seating installed. Both disassembled and we’re brought through the entry door and reassembled.

Thanks for the reply. I may also look at the Lambright seating. Once I get the old unit out and measure I’ll have a better idea if regular recliners will work.

I may also look at what Newmar used for a Hide-a-bed in coaches that they produce with recliners.

NWIP, maybe yours has such a couch/bed installed on the door side?

Yes it has a 74” Jack knife sofa which has a queen size air mattress.

That’s what mine has as well. I’m thinking of looking for an actual pull out hide a bed, but likely never need it….so not a high priorit.

Thanks.

Jeff

We did something similar with our Dutch Star. The couch was bolted in, it was a pretty simple disassembly procedure. We went with Rec Pro, good quality and good price.

Thanks. I’m thinking a lot of furniture must be put in after the walls are up Although could be windowless.

Just did what you are contemplating. Took out the FWS sofa...was fairly easy to dissasemble and take out in pieces. Ordered Lambright swivel recliners in May (17 week leadtime) had Newmar make the lampstand (wasnt cheap) but it matches our interior right down to the hardware. Very happy with the recliners. So comfortable.

Looks really good. I hope my job works out as well. I’m planning on using a couple of power wall hugger lazy boys initially. How long did it take to get the lampstand from Newmar?

What model of the Lambright did you get? Many on their site.
