When I traveled with dogs that tended to bark at strangers or ofher dogs, I would ask for a camp site on the outer edge of the campground as far away from amenities and services as possible. That tended to insulate us from most other folks and kept “reactions“ to a minimum. Taking that approach I traveled all over the US and Canada for over 10 years with two large German Shepherds with very minimal to no issues.
