I have a Garmin Dashcam 45. Purchased in 2017 and it still records very well. I went with a Garmin simply because I have two GPS units manufactured by them. It saves video in segments by minutes so it's easy to find a scene (as long as you know the relevant time). It's pretty easy to use and very reliable. I can't say if it's is the best or worst but it does well for me. It is switched from the Coach to the Jeep depending on what vehicle is bein used. When in the Coach is has a "High Mount" setting. Amazon.caI have been spending a fair amount of time reading about dash cams that can be used in a Class A coach and I am confused. Many say they are the best, i.e., Rove, Redtiger, Elektrikat, etc. Online reviews may be unreliable. Curious what the RVForums' members are using. Thanks in advance!
I have hard wired both the coach and the Jeep. I tied into the existing 12 V power outlets. The Jeep has outlets that are full time and also triggered by the ignition. I used the ignition on in the Jeep but the full time in the coach (used to record our dogs actions when left alone when she was still a puppy). When I don't want it recording in the coach I just unplug it from the rear of the camera.Where do you get switched power for the camera? I used the 12v power in the old RV but the power port on the new one is used for GPS.
I'd like to hard wire it in wire ignition switched power.
