Interesting. Thanks. At home Inkeep it at 35%. The exception is the room with a lare wooden musical instrument which drinks much water (45-50 % in there).
Yes, be careful. Too dry takes the moisture out of the wood and will cause it to shrink. When I had my house lower, my baseboards shrunk and I had to reseal the connection joints. The wood separated.
 
I use two energy star rated ones so they kick on and off. Set to 55% . One drains into kitchen sink one drains into rear bathroom.
